Mangli Devi who resides in Shahabad Diary, Delhi, is a vegetable seller. She belongs to a Haryanvi family & migrated from Hariyana few years back to Delhi. At that time she was simply a home maker.
Three years back her husband got ill with some incurable disease. Then, Mangli wasn’t left with any other option else than earning herself. She was new to urban world but how some she managed one pulling rickshaw & started selling vegetables.

Years back Rita Devi got married with a Delhi based boy in her home town Samasthipur district, Bihar. He took her to Delhi & later on they got a son who is now 6. Now -a -days Rita Devi resides in Shakurpur area of New Delhi is a maid & work in different house holds.Three years back her husband got married to another girl leaving her & her son alone.
- Neetu Jindal
Neetu Jindal belongs from a Rajasthani family & resides in Budh Vihar area of New Delhi. Neetu & her husband run a flour shop “Atta Chakki’ in Budh Vihar area. Their shop was on rent and was far away from the main market. But still they were earning sufficiently for the survival of the family of three (Husband, wife, and one child).
- Meenakshi Devi
Meenakshi belongs to a Bihari family. She is a florist in Naharpur area of New Delhi. Meenakshi & her husband managed to open a counter in a flower market 2 years back. But still they were running their livelihoods with great difficulties as they were never able to fill their counter with enough variety of flowers to sustain in the competition. Meenakshi and her school going girl were bound to give duties in their counter time to time as they never had enough money to hire workers
