Sulaxmi Lok Sansthan founded by Dr. Sunita Sharma and Amarendra Kishore along with other trustees in year 1996 under the Trust Act of 1906. It
is a non-partisan, non-religious, non-political and non-profit Non Governmental
Organisation(NGO) working with the objective of betterment of relatively
disadvantaged population i.e. tribals in particular and others in general.
Trust is enjoying 12A from Government of India, an Income Tax Exemption
certificate for the NGO. And certificate 80G provides 50% income tax exemption
to Indian donors. Sulaxmi has FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act)
certificate from Ministry of Home Affairs which allows Sulaxmi to receive
foreign funds. Organisation is also the fiscal partner of a US based non-profit
organization (Teachers Without Borders) thus sharing 501(c)3, an Income Tax
Exemption Certificate for US Donors. MICRO-FINANCE is Sulaxmi’s core activity.
Other than this Sulaxmi has completed more than 150 research, documentation
and land based community based action character projects..
Today, some 54 highly motivated and skilled professionals under Sulaxmi Lok Sansthan’s fold
are working in the remote villages of India, immersing themselves directly with
target communities. Sulaxmi professionals, divided into 8 teams, work with
over 1,870 families in 90 villages across nine of the poorest states in the
country including in Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, UP, Orissa,
Chhattisgarh, Haryana, West Bengal and also outskirts of NCR.
